Zytiga is used in combination with prednisone, to treat prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body in adult patients who have no or mild symptoms, after failure of the androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), in adult patients who have had prior cancer treatment with docetaxel after failure of ADT, and in adult patients with newly diagnosed hormone-sensitive high-risk prostate cancer who may have received up to 3 months of prior ADT. This medication works by stopping the body from making androgens in testes, adrenal glands and prostate cancer tumor. This slows down the growth of prostate cancer.
