What is the Zoryve Used for?

Zoryve (Roflumilast) is a prescription medicine used to treat plaque psoriasis. Plaque psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes the cells to reproduce quickly. This leads to raised, scaly patches on the skin. The drug also relieves itching and inflammation associated with mild to moderate eczema. The active ingredient in Zoryve is Roflumilast. Roflumilast belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) inhibitors. It works by increasing the amount of a specific chemical in the body that can help reduce pain and inflammation.

Are there any Precautions and Drug Interactions for Zoryve?

Before using this medication, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to Zoryve or have other problems when using Roflumilast. It is crucial to continue using this medication exactly as your doctor prescribes. Zoryve comes as a cream. Apply this medication to the affected area only. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, or vagina. Rub the cream completely until you no longer see it on your skin. Use the cream once daily. Wash your hands after applying the cream unless you are treating your hands. If someone else applies the cream for you, they should wash their hands after applying it.

You should not use Zoryve and inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have or have had:
• Moderate to severe liver impairment

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant. Zoryve is not expected to harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding. It is unknown if Roflumilast passes into breast milk or if it may harm a nursing infant. Breastfeeding women should use the cream on the smallest skin area and for the shortest time needed. Do not apply this cream directly to the nipple or areola if you are breastfeeding to avoid contact of Zoryve with your baby. Do not give Zoryve to children below six years without talking to your doctor.

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements, to prevent drug interactions that might be fatal to your health. This drug interaction may make your drug less effective, cause adverse effects, or potentiate other drugs' actions. There may be a drug interaction between Zoryve and other drugs, such as oral contraceptives, amlodipine, fluconazole, etc.
