What is the Vyndamax Used for?

Vyndamax (Tafamidis) is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with the cardiomyopathy of wild-type or hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis (ATTR-CM) to reduce death and hospitalization related to heart problems. Wild-type cardiomyopathy is a life-threatening disease that occurs when normal transthyretin protein becomes unstable and deposits in the heart. The active ingredient in Vyndamax is Tafamidis. Tafamidis belongs to a class of drugs called transthyretin stabilizers. It works by stabilizing abnormal transthyretin, a protein associated with ATTR-CM. This prevents the formation of harmful amyloid protein deposits in the heart, slowing disease progression.
