What Dosages and Forms are Tri-Estarylla Available in?

Tri-Estarylla is available in the strength of 84 days of pills.

What is Tri-Estarylla Used for?

Tri-Estarylla (Norgestimate/Ethinyl Estradiol) is a combined oral contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy. It is also an effective therapy for irregular menstruation, treats acne and reduces the risk of ovarian cysts among women. The active ingredients in Tri-Estarylla are Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol. Tri-Estarylla belongs to the class of medication called oral contraceptives. The active substances work by causing changes in the cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus. Tri-Estarylla is a birth control pill in the case of unprotected sexual intercourse, and it does not prevent you from sexually transmitted infection.

What are the Possible Side Effects of Tri-Estarylla?

If you experience any of the following common side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately:
• Abdominal pain;
• Amenorrhoea;
• Breast tenderness;
• Changes in menstrual flow;
• Loss of appetite;
• Somnolence;
• Spotting;
• Weakness

Stop using Tri-Estarylla and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects such as:
• Breast discharge;
• Changes in mental state such as depression;
• Cessation of menstruation for more than six months;
• Severe breast enlargement and pain;
• Severe vaginal bleeding;
• Unintended weight gain

This is not a complete list of the adverse effect of Tri-Estarylla. Kindly reach out to your doctor or pharmacist if any of the above-listed side effects last longer than usual or get worse.

Are there any Precautions and Drug Interactions for Tri-Estarylla?

Before taking this medication, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to Tri-Estarylla, or currently using another form of oral contraceptives. You might have spotting or irregular bleeding when using this medicine. You should use the pill as directed on the leaflet or follow the direction on the tablet. Tri-Esterylla doesn't protect you from contracting sexually transmitted infections. Hence it would be best if you asked your doctor for a barrier contractive such condom. Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while using this medicine. If you miss two periods in a row, it would be best to do a pregnancy test before you continue using Tri-Esterylla pills. If you miss a dose or take it late, you might have spontaneous bleeding. However, if you have heavy bleeding, consult your doctor. If you experience severe side effects, talk to your doctor immediately for a review of your dose and medication.

You should not take Tri-Estarylla and inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have or have had:
• Blood clotting disorder;
• Breast cancer;
• Diabetes mellitus;
• Depression or family history of mental disorder;
• High blood pressure;
• Kidney disease;
• Liver disease or liver cancer;
• Migraines or severe headaches

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant and plan to get pregnant using Tri-Estarylla pills. During pregnancy, it is not recommended to use an oral contraceptive pill because the risks outweigh the benefits and are harmful to the growing baby. In addition, Tri-Estarylla passes into breast milk, which may reduce the breast milk's quality. Therefore, you should complete your breastfeeding before starting on oral contraceptive pills or discuss it with your doctor.

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements, to prevent drug interactions which might be fatal to your health. This interaction may make your drug less effective, cause adverse effects, or potentiate other drugs' actions. There may be a drug interaction between Tri-Estarylla and other drugs such as:
• Aspirin;
• Ascorbic acid;
• Ketoconazole;
• Ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir & dasabuvir (DSC);
• Tranexamic acid oral
