Are there any Precautions and Drug Interactions for Treanda?

Before using Bendamustine, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or have any other allergies. Treanda comes as a powder for injection vial, and your doctor should give it into the vein. Do not use more than your prescribed dosage. Your dosage depends on your weight and the severity of your condition. Your doctor may request a blood test before every cycle of your medication. Treanda may make you dizzy or tired. Alcohol or marijuana (cannabis) can make you more dizzy or tired. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely. Limit alcoholic beverages. It would be best to know that Treanda can lower the immune response to infection. You may get an infection or bleed more easily. Call your doctor if you have unusual bruising, bleeding, or signs of infection (fever, chills, body aches).

You should not take Treanda and inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have or have had:
• Blood or bone marrow disorder;
• Electrolyte imbalance;
• Kidney disease;
• Liver disease (including hepatitis B infection);
• Tuberculosis;
• Weak immune system or being treated for HIV/AIDs

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or nursing a child. Your doctor may conduct a pregnancy test to ascertain that you are not pregnant. Bendamustine may harm an unborn baby. Do not use Treanda medication during pregnancy. It is often recommended to use effective birth control during treatment and 3 months after the last dose if you are a woman of reproductive age. It is unknown if Bendamustine passes into breast milk. However, breastfeeding is not recommended while using this drug and for 1 week after stopping treatment. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements, to prevent drug interactions that might be fatal to your health. This interaction may make your drug less effective, cause adverse effects, or potentiate other drugs' actions. There may be a drug interaction between Treanda and other medications, such as:
Allopurinol;
• Ifosfomide;
• Somatogron;
• Tucatinib;
• Zileuton
