What Is Tasmar Used For?
The medication Tasmar (tolcapone) is used for the treatment of
Parkinson ’s disease along with the medicine levodopa (as levodopa/benserazide or levodopa/carbidopa). This medication is used when all other alternative medicines have failed to stabilize your Parkinson ’s disease. A natural enzyme in the body, called COMT breaks down levodopa. Tasmar blocks this enzyme and thus slows down the breakdown of levodopa.
