Are there any Precautions and Drug Interactions for Panacur?

Before administering this medication, you should tell your veterinarian or pharmacist if your dog is allergic to Panacur or has other problems when using Fenbendazole. It is crucial to continue administering this medication exactly as your veterinarian prescribes. Panacur comes in different dosage forms. Do not use different dosage forms for your pet at the same time. If you are administering the paste form, give it to the back of your pet's tongue after feeding. Administer the granules orally. You should shake the liquid suspension before giving it to your dog. Give this drug to your dog by mixing the daily dose with a small amount of the usual food. Make sure your dog eats all of the medicated food. You may need to moisten dry dog food to aid in mixing. Repeat the daily dose for three days in a row. Your pet's dose will be based on its weight. You will need to buy the right sachet size or a combination of sachets for your puppy size. You should weigh your dog to ensure you use the right size and number of packets.

Using the next higher size is safe if your dog's weight is between the suggested dosing sizes. Deworming schedules may vary depending on the climate where you live and your dog's activity. Dogs over six months of age should be dewormed at least twice yearly. Deworm newly weaned pups (between 6 and 8 weeks of age) at 6, 8, 10, and 12 weeks. Treat the mother at the same time as the puppies. Panacur only kills Taenia species of tapeworms. Dogs can become infected with several different kinds of tapeworms. Panacur works within a few hours. You might see dead worms passed shortly after giving the medication. If you continue to see tapeworm segments in your dog's stool after treatment with Panacur, consult your veterinarian. This drug is not for use in humans. Do not take this drug. Wash your hands immediately after administering Panacur.

You should not administer Panacur and inform your veterinarian about your dog's medical history, especially if it has or has had:
• Any sickness;

Tell your veterinarian if your dog is pregnant, breeding, or lactating. It is unknown if Panacur will harm a pregnant, breeding, or lactating dog.

Tell your veterinarian about all the medications your dog uses, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements, to prevent drug interactions that might be fatal to your dog's health. This drug interaction may make your drug less effective, cause adverse effects, or potentiate other drugs' actions. There may be a drug interaction between Panacur and other drugs.
