What is Ongentys used for?
Ongentys is used with levodopa and carbidopa in people with Parkinson’s disease who are having ‘OFF’ episodes. Ongentys contains the active substance opicapone. It is used to treat Parkinson’scdisease and associated movement problems. Parkinson's disease is a progressive disease of the nervous system that causes shaking and affects your movement. Take the medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It should be taken one time each day at bedtime. The usual dose is 50 mg once daily.
What Are The Possible Side Effects of Ongentys?
Some of the common side effects of Ongentys may include side effects such as uncontrolled sudden movements, low blood pressure, constipation, weight loss, increase in an enzyme called creatine kinase. Some serious side effects include falling asleep during normal activities, low blood pressure, dizziness, seeing, hearing, believing or feeling things that are not true, impulse control and compulsive disorders.
