What is Nexletol used for?


Nexletol is a prescription medication used along with diet and other lipid-lowering medicines in treatment of adults with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH). HeFH is an inherited condition that causes high levels of “bad” cholesterol called low-density lipoprotein (LDL). It is also used for the treatment of adults with known heart disease who need additional lowering of “bad” cholesterol (LDL-C) levels. It is not known if Nexletol can decrease heart problems caused by high cholesterol. The safety and efficacy of Nexletol is not known in people with severe kidney or liver problems and in children under 18 years of age. Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take one tablet of Nexletol by mouth each day. You may take the medication with or without food.

What Are The Possible Side Effects of Nexletol?


Some of the common side effects of Nexletol may include symptoms of common cold, flu, back pain, stomach pain, increased liver enzymes, muscle spasms, pain in shoulder, legs or arms, anemia, bronchitis. Some of the serious side effects of this medication include increased levels of uric acid (gout) in blood, and tendon rupture or injury with symptoms such as pain, swelling, tears and inflammation of tendons including arm, shoulder or back of ankle. Call your health care provider immediately if you have symptoms of gout such as severe foot pain, warm joints, swelling, tender joints, joint redness. These are not all the possible side effects of Nexletol. In case of any unexpected effect, consult your healthcare professional immediately.
