Ibrance (Palbociclib) is a cancer medication used to treat HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Ibrance is used in combination with other hormonal medications to work as a CDK 4/6 inhibitor. Ibrance works to stop cell growth in both healthy cells and cancer cells, to stop any possible spreading or growth. In postmenopausal women, Ibrance is given in combination with a hormonal medicine such as letrozole (Femara). In others, Ibrance is given together with fulvestrant (Faslodex). Take this medication with food, and at the same time every day. Swallow the capsule whole and do not crush, chew, break, or open it. Do not use a broken or damaged pill.

What Are the Possible Side Effects of Ibrance?


Common side effects of Ibrance include infections, easy bruising or bleeding, feeling weak or tired, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, mouth sores, dry skin, rash, nosebleeds, thinning hair, or hair loss. Call your doctor immediately if you notice more severe side effects such as blisters or ulcers in your mouth, signs of low blood cell counts (fever, chills, tiredness, mouth sores, skin sores, easy bruising, unusual bleeding, pale skin, cold hands and feet), or signs of lung problems (chest pain, new or worsening cough, irregular breathing, wheezing). • If you are a woman, do not use Palbociclib if you are pregnant. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant during treatment. Use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy while you are using this medication and for at least 3 weeks after your last dose.
• If you are a man, use effective birth control if your sex partner is able to get pregnant. Keep using birth control for at least 3 months after your last dose. Tell your doctor immediately if your partner becomes pregnant during your treatment.

• Have kidney disease
• Are breastfeeding
