What is Elidel Cream used for?

You should not take Elidel Cream if you are allergic to it, or if you have a bacterial or viral skin infection. Particularly if you have skin cancer or any type of skin infection, a weak immune system, kidney disease, or any swelling, redness, or irritation over large areas of skin. Avoid applying Elidel Cream to an area affected with skin cancer. This medication can lower your body’s ability to fight infections. Do not use this medication when you are pregnant or nursing without getting your doctor’s advice. Avoid exposure to sunlight, tanning beds, and phototherapy treatments while on this medication. Drinking alcohol may cause your face or skin to feel hot and/or become flushed/red. There are a number of medications that can interact with Elidel Cream, including: cimetidine, conivaptan, nefazodone, antibiotics, antifungals, heart or blood pressure medications, hepatitis C medications, and HIV/AIDS medications. Elidel Cream should not be used on children under the age of 2.

Elidel Cream Storage and Safety Information


Elidel Cream is stored at room temperature and below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). It should be stored away from heat, moisture and light. Do not freeze and keep tube tightly capped when not in use. Elidel Cream should be kept away from children and pets.
