What Dosages and Forms is Dovato available in?

Dovato is available in the dosage of 50 mg/300 mg tablets.

What is Dovato used for?

Dovato (Dolutegravir and Lamivudine) is a combination antiviral medication that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from multiplying in your body. It is used to prevent the spread of HIV and the development of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Dolutegravir and Lamivudine are both enzyme inhibitors. The enzymes they block are needed by HIV to multiply and grow, so by blocking them, Dovato prevents the spread of HIV and can reduce the amount of HIV in the body. Dovato is not a cure for HIV or AIDS. Dovato is only for use in adults who have not been treated with other antiviral medications before.

What Are the Possible Side Effects of Dovato?

Common side effects of Dovato include headache, tiredness, nausea, diarrhea, or sleep problems such as insomnia. Contact your doctor if you notice more serious side effects such as signs of a new infection (fever, night sweats, swollen glands, cold sores, cough, wheezing, diarrhea, and weight loss), trouble speaking or swallowing, problems with balance or eye movement, swelling in your neck or throat, liver problems (nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, upper stomach pain, dark urine, jaundice), or menstrual changes. This is not a complete list of side effects. Talk to your doctor about managing any other possible side effects.
