Cotellic (Cobimetinib Fumarate) is a prescription medicine used to treat adult patients with a type of skin cancer called melanoma, metastasis to other parts of the body or cannot be removed by surgery. Cotellic is also used to treat histiocytic neoplasms (conditions that cause overproduction and accumulation of a type of white blood cell in parts of the body). Cotellic is used in combination with another anti-cancer medicine called vemurafenib. The active ingredient in Cotellic is Cobimetinib Fumarate. Cobimetinib Fumarate belongs to the group of medications called kinase inhibitors (anti-neoplasm). It works by blocking the action of an abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply, which helps slow or stop the spread of cancer cells.
