Brilinta 90 mg is given to patients who have had a heart attack or chest pain. The 60 mg dose is given to patients who had a heart attack over a year ago. Brilinta contains ticagrelor which belongs to a group of medicines called as antiplatelet agents. It prevents formation of blood clots inside a damaged blood vessel. These clots can otherwise lead to cut off of the blood supply causing heart attack or stroke, chest pain (angina). Brilinta helps to stop the clumping of platelets which reduces the chances of blood clot formation which can otherwise block a blood vessel. Take Brilinta exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. allow the Brilinta tablet whole with some water. Take one tablet in the morning and one in the evening at around the same time every day.
