What Dosages and Forms is Bevespi available in?

The generic Bevespi is available in the strength of 9 mcg Glycopyrrolate/4.8 mcg Formoterol/120 dose.

What is Bevespi used for?

Bevespi (Formoterol and Glycopyrrolate) is a inhalation medication used to prevent airflow obstruction or bronchospasm and reduce flare-ups in adults with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), including bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes) and emphysema (disease caused by damage to the alveoli, tiny air sacs in the lungs). Bevespi Aerosphere is not for use in treating asthma. Bevespi contains two medications, formoterol and glycopyrrolate. Formoterol belongs to a class of medications called long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonists (LABAs), and glycopyrrolate belongs to a class of medications called anticholinergics. Formoterol works by targeting adrenergic receptors in the respiratory system that are responsible for muscle contractions in the lungs and airways. Glycopyrrolate works by blocking the action of a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger) in the body called acetylcholine through its actions on the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, which are responsible for smooth muscle contractions and bronchoconstriction. Glycopyrrolate and Formoterol work together to relax the muscles in the airways and allow for easier breathing. Use Bevespi Aerosphere exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides. Use the medicine exactly as directed. Using too much of this medicine can cause life-threatening side effects. Shake the Bevespi Aerosphere well just before you inhale your dose. This medicine is not a rescue medicine for bronchospasm attacks. Use a fast-acting inhaler for a sudden asthma attack.

What Are the Possible Side Effects of Bevespi?

Some of the common side effects of Bevespi may include cough or urination problems. Some serious side effects include blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or redness, or seeing halos around lights, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, chest pain, fast or pounding heartbeats, wheezing, choking, or other breathing problems after using this medication, signs of high blood sugar (increased thirst, increased urination, dry mouth, fruity breath odor), or signs of low potassium level (leg cramps, constipation, irregular heartbeats, fluttering in your chest, numbness or tingling, muscle weakness or limp feeling). These are not all the possible side effects of Bevespi. In case of any unexpected effect, consult your healthcare professional immediately.
