What is Adenocard Used for?

Adenocard (Adenosine) is a prescription injection vial used to treat stable reentry supraventricular tachycardia or paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT), including PSVT in patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome is a common heart condition in which there is abnormal fast beating of the heart as a result of extra electrical connection within the heart. The active substance in Adenocard is Adenosine. Adenosine belongs to the class of medication called Antidysrhythmic (class V). It works by slowing conduction through atrioventricular (AV) node and interrupts AV reentry pathways, which restore normal sinus symptoms. Normal rhythm of the heart allows for effective functioning of the heart.
