What is Vagifem used for?

Vagifem is used as a local treatment for some menopause symptoms such as dryness, burning, and itching. It’s a form of estrogen, a female sex hormone that regulates and maintains many processes in the body. As women age, estrogen levels drop and testosterone raises, causing some problematic symptoms. Vagifem is considered a systemic medication, as it affects other parts of the body than where it’s placed. In this case, it may also reduce hot flashes.
