What is Creon used for?
Creon is a combination medication which includes three enzymes: lipase, protease, and amylase. Ordinarily, these enzymes are produced by the pancreas and they’re critical in the digestion of fats, proteins, starch, and sugars. It’s used to treat certain medical conditions which cause a lack of these enzymes—including cystic fibrosis, cancer of the pancreas, chronic inflammation of the pancreas, or blockage of the pancreatic ducts.
